The aim of Cariwest is to promote the vibrancy of Caribbean cultural custom through Carnival. This allows Canadians of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds to engage in the “freedom of expression” which is manifested in the art forms unique to Carnival including Soca, Reggae, Mas costumes and Creative Dance.

The annual parade creates a stage for masqueraders to display their costumes, carnival spirit, creativity and pageantry to Western Canada.
