Cariwest 2018 - We are on the move

Federal Plaza- Downtown Edmonton

2018 will see a fresh, new vibe to Cariwest as we move our Caribbean Village to a new location at the Federal Plaza (located in front of the Alberta Legislative Building). After over 15 years at Churchill Square, Cariwest will most definitely take on a new energy and we want to make sure you are ready, but most importantly, we want to make sure that you don’t go looking for us in the wrong place.

So, WHAT’s New??

Cariwest 2018 Parade

Presented by Royal Delivery Services – This year the crown jewel of Cariwest, our Saturday Grand Parade is essentially going in reverse. We start at noon; however, this the parade begins at Jasper and 100th heading westbound on Jasper to 107th. At that point we head south towards the Federal Building Plaza, home of the Caribbean Village.

The Caribbean Village

Our 2018 new location offers an opportunity for a fresh look and vibe to the centre of Edmontons’ Caribbean world.

2018 Caribbean Village Highlights:

Taste the Caribbean

A place to experience the many flavors and diverse cuisine the Caribbean has to offer. This year you can get your “belly full” along 99th Avenue between 107th street and 108th street, you will find your favourites, such as Jerk Chicken, Roti and much more, your taste buds are in for a culinary adventure and a taste of home.

Caribbean Market

2018 features one of our largest collections of art, crafts, fashion and services, from both local and Caribbean merchant vendors. Our market place located on the Federal Plaza grounds has something for everyone interested in the Arts, Culture and Lifestyle of the Caribbean.

Live Entertainment

Located on the south end of the Capital Plaza, the Cariwest main stage houses a wide variety of Caribbean entertainment, dancing, reggae and sweet sounds of soca will be calling you to grab sometin' and wave all weekend.

This year as we celebrate 34 years of Carnival in Edmonton, we embrace change and with it, a fresh new outlook on what it means to bring the vibrancy of the Caribbean to Alberta’s capital region.
